Tropical Storm Harvey threatens vital Texas energy hub

Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane and was downgraded to a tropical storm by mid-Saturday. It still threatens to cause prolonged disruptions to the critical refineries along the Texas Gulf Coast. The area is home to nearly one-third of the nation’s capacity to turn oil into gas, diesel and other products. Gasoline prices are poised to rise steadily higher depending on the severity of the damage and length of outages.
