Superfund Sites to Receive Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funding
According to an announcement from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), they plan to fund new cleanup projects. 49 Superfund sites on the National Priorities List will be funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Until this historic investment, many of these were part of a backlog of Superfund sites with new construction projects awaiting funding. More than 60 percent of the sites are in historically underserved communities. Some of these sites have been waiting for cleanup funds for over four years.
