Public-Private Partnerships Will Make or Break Trump’s Infrastructure Plan

On Monday President Donald Trump began the process of rolling out his $1 trillion infrastructure plan. In particular, the President’s plan focuses extensively on public and private partnerships, a strategy that the U.S. has been slow to engage with compared to many other developed nations. In an interview last Friday, Gary Cohn, director of the National Economic Council who played a key role in developing the infrastructure investment plan said, “We like the template of not using taxpayer dollars to give taxpayers wins.”
