Nebraska Department of Transportation Breaks Ground for Highway 30 Grand Island West Project
The Nebraska Department of Transportation commenced construction on the Highway 30 Grand Island West Project on Monday.
Grand Island Mayor Roger Steele noted that the project will not only expand the highway but also create new opportunities for businesses. He also mentioned that the project is estimated to cost $33 million.
According to Local 4,
Wes Wahlgren, division engineer for NDOT District 4, said the expansion is expected to be finished within the next two years and that construction is well underway.
NDOT Director Vicki Kramer said this expansion will help solve roadway congestion and makes the highway safer for drivers.
