Millions of Americans Face Hidden Drinking Water Contaminants

Approximately 23 million U.S. homes rely on private wells for drinking water, yet many may be consuming contaminated water. According to reporting by Newsweek, a 2022 survey revealed a troubling lack of awareness about water safety among well users in Iowa. 

The primary contaminant is nitrate, often from agricultural runoff, which poses serious health risks in infants, and potential long-term conditions like colorectal cancer.
