Lawmakers Push Back on Decarbonizing Electric Grids

Lawmakers struggle with the $3.5 Trillion Climate Plan to Decarbonize Electric Grids.

Some members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission argued this week if the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package was realistic. The plan would decarbonize the electric grid and offer  incentives and penalties to power providers to move to clean energy production. According to Energy News Network, some lawmakers questioned if the amount of money allocated to the package would impact wholesale electric markets and their capacity markets and if they could withstand such an influx of money subsidizing clean energy and maintain their current structures.
