Lawmaker Rolls Out National High-Speed Rail Plan

Representative Seth Moulton of Massachusetts unveiled a plan to build a national high-speed rail network and to make a competitive option for travelers. The proposal, which was released in a 30-page white paper, calls for investing $205 billion over five years, and if passed would create an estimated 2.6 million new jobs.

Moulton’s plan outlines specific funding models and ways to incorporate state, local, and private entities in the development. If enacted, this plan could provide critical infrastructure to boost the economy, while also providing clean transportation alternatives to road and air travel.
