Groundwater remedy for Ringwood Superfund under extended review

A highly-anticipated plan to address contaminated groundwater at the Ringwood Mines Superfund site has been delayed until at least the fall as officials continue to evaluate conditions at the former Ford Motor Company dump. The groundwater remediation plan had been expected to be released early this winter. However, additional data requests from site managers partially spurred by North Jersey District Water Supply Commission report highlighting a risk for pollution to migrate from the site to the Wanaque Reservoir, extended the timetable, said Elias Rodriguez, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency spokesman.
