Feds release $850M to fix aging water infrastructure in the West
The Department of the Interior announced $849 million for 77 projects to revitalize aging water delivery systems across the West. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding supports projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah and Washington, according to the release. hese projects will improve water conveyance and storage, increase safety, improve hydropower generation and provide water treatment, per the release. Others will replace equipment for hydropower production and provide vital maintenance to aging buildings.
