EPA grants $500K for cleanup loans

The Washington Department of Commerce will receive $500,000 in supplemental revolving loan funding from the Environmental Protection Agency. It’s part of $15.7 million in funding the federal agency is providing to assist with cleaning up contaminated brownfield properties around the country. Washington’s share will help with cleanups at the former Northern State Hospital property in Sedro-Woolley, which is slated to house start-up companies, and at affordable-housing sites.
