DOT awards $30 million to create truck parking, rest areas
The Department of Transportation has awarded over $30 million through the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) program to create 210 new truck parking spaces and three new rest areas across Ohio, Wisconsin and Nevada, as reported by Fleet Owner.
Industry associations, including the American Trucking Association and the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA), have praised the funding, highlighting the importance of addressing the chronic shortage of truck parking.
