DOE selects nearly $2B in projects for grid resilience funding
The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded funding to 38 projects through its Grid Resilience and Innovation Program (GRIP) totaling nearly $2 billion, as reported by Utility Drive. The initiatives aim to strengthen grid reliability by undergrounding power lines, installing rerouting technology and increasing transmission capacity by 7.5 GW.
With a total commitment of 7.6 billion so far, the new program has generated over $4.2 billion in public-private investment under the Biden Administration.
