DOE allocates $43M+ to advance industrial decarbonization technologies
The U.S. Department of Energy has announced $43.2 million in funding for 21 projects that are aimed at developing technologies to reduce energy-use and greenhouse gas emissions in industrial sectors.
Of this amount, $38 million is designated for 16 projects focused on cross-sector technologies, while $5.2 million supports five initiatives in partnership with the Electrified Process for Industry without Carbon Institute.
The director of the DOE’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office said that over 60% of carbon reductions in the industrial sector will depend on advancements in these areas.
