City of Chandler Reinvests in Neighborhood Water Infrastructure

The City of Chandler has initiated a Water Main Replacement Project to upgrade approximately 12,600 linear feet of aging water mains in the Tyson Manor and Sunset Manor neighborhoods. This effort aims to enhance system reliability, reduce the risk of water damage, and is part of the city’s broader Capital Improvement Program focused on maintaining and modernizing essential infrastructure.

According to the city’s pressroom, Chandler’s Water Distribution Division maintains over 36,000 valves and 1,242 miles of pipe in the potable water system. The Water Main Replacement Project is part of an ongoing effort to update and combat aging water infrastructure in Chandler. The city has a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to replace water mains that are susceptible to breaks due to age and condition. The program evaluates water infrastructure, identifying high-priority water mains in need of replacement. Replacement of city water mains will result in improved system reliability and reduced risk of water damage.
