City engineer touts benefits of sustainable stormwater management

Sandra Clark attended the Cape Fear River Assembly forum with her husband Wednesday night because of concerns over clean drinking water. She said she started educating herself about the state’s natural resources after the announcement of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. As proposed, the pipeline would snake through the Cumberland County farm of husband Tom’s grandfather. “The waters are very important. The waters for future generations are very crucial and important,” said Clark, who lives in Wade. “If we do not be better stewards of the waters today, they won’t be here for the future. We have a 10-year-old granddaughter. It’s scary. That water won’t be there for her.”
