California doles out $3.8B for transportation improvements
As reported by Construction Dive, the California Transportation Commission recently allocated $3.8 billion for a range of infrastructure projects across the state, supported by federal and state funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and California Senate Bill 1. The funding aims to improve California’s bridges, highways, railways, and freight corridors and will be distributed to roughly 600 local governments and agencies. Caltrans Director Tony Tavares emphasized that these projects will create safer, climate-resilient transportation options across the state, benefiting residents’ access to jobs, education and services.
