Buffalo Grove Approves Construction Bids For New Public Works Facility

The Village of Buffalo Grove just announced they will be creating a new public works facility using an existing building, which will be saving them nearly 30 million dollars. The 173,00-square-foot facility will provide “enough space” for the current operations of the public works department and will help existing jobs immensely.

According to Patch, during remodeling and relocation, the Public Works Department will continue to operate from its 51 Raupp Boulevard headquarters.

It has always been our priority to enhance how we serve and meet the needs of our growing community while we find funding strategies that minimize any impact to our residents,” – Dane Bragg, Village Manager.

“By using an innovative adaptive reuse strategy, the Village will deliver a modern facility at the lowest possible cost.”

The Village is using Fredrick Quinn Corporation as the construction manager for the project. According to officials, FQC assisted the Village throughout the design phase of the project, which they say resulted in additional savings. The Village said it is using a shared risk model with a guaranteed maximum price contract totaling $17,967,980, including $804,923 in project contingency.
