Biden Allocates $11 Billion for the Construction of a Tunnel Across the Hudson River: One of the Largest Infrastructure Projects in the USA
US authorities have allocated a huge sum of $11 billion for the construction of a new railway tunnel under the Hudson River, connecting New York and New Jersey.
According to Railway Supply, the existing 114-year-old tunnel, damaged by Hurricane Sandy, is in urgent need of modernization.
The project includes the creation of a new two-track tunnel, reconstruction of the damaged North River tunnel, and construction of a connecting structure in Hudson Yards. These measures aim to improve reliability and increase capacity, making train travel on Amtrak and NJ Transit more convenient and safe.
