ASCE Geo-Extreme 2025
Geo-Extreme 2025 is an upcoming geotechnical engineering conference hosted by the Geo-Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Scheduled for November 2–5, 2025, in Long Beach, California, the event will convene engineers, climate scientists, emergency managers, policymakers, and resilience experts to address the challenges posed by extreme natural and man-made events in a changing climate. The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance infrastructure resilience against hazards such as hurricanes, wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and landslides. The Hyatt Regency Long Beach will serve as the official venue.
The conference will cover a broad range of topics, including big data analytics for extreme events, climate-resilient infrastructure, geotechnical earthquake engineering, post-disaster materials management, and the integration of equity and justice into infrastructure planning. It will also feature case histories, lessons learned, and best practices. The event is co-chaired by Daniel Pradel of The Ohio State University and Navid H. Jafari of Texas A&M University, with Christopher L. Meehan of the University of Delaware serving as the Technical Publication Committee Chair.
