3 energy issues to watch at Interior, DOE and EPA

As reported by E&E, the Biden Administration is advancing key regulations that could shape U.S. decarbonization efforts for years. Upcoming decisions will affect oil and gas drilling on public lands, enforcement of emission standards and greenhouse gas emissions from household and industrial appliances. 

Despite this, the Department of the Interior plans an oil auction in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge by year-end, amid environmental concerns. While the Department of Energy is set to finalize energy efficiency regulations that could reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the future of these stands depend on the 2024 election’s outcome.
