$1.8 Billion in Infrastructure Grants Announced Across U.S.
The U.S. Department of Transportation announced $1.8 billion in infrastructure grants for 148 road building and infrastructure projects all across America.
According to For Construction Pros, funding comes from the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program for projects across the country. This announcement brings the grant program’s total to $7.2 billion for more than 550 projects.
The RAISE program was authorized $1.5 billion a year on top of already appropriated funds through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which was designed to support projects of local and regional significance. Funding is split equally between urban and rural areas, and a large percentage of grants support regions defined as historically disadvantaged or areas of persistent poverty.
